Hi all,
Question first time taking our TT out we will have water hook up but NO electric. Can we make it 2 days on the battery for lights in the TT I know fridge on propane but wondering if I should bring our camping lights? Anyone?

if you don't have solar or a generator or extra batteries my guess would be no, you are not going to make it. odd you have water but no electric.

We are camping at a national park and they said yes to water but there was no power.

Generator it is then I guess everything will be a first time. Off to get a generator.

That's a good sized trailer, so probably two A/C units. That takes a lot of power to run. Without running the A/C you can get by with a 2000 watt gen set. Whatever you get, make sure it's an inverter generator that's quiet. A contractor-grade generator will not go over very well with your neighbors.

Make sure you understand the usage requirement for generators at the campground. Some state and national parks require carb compliant models. Most have quiet hours after 10pm-?am where you cannot run the generator. Many also have audio requirements or no open frame generators. Also if you are camping at altitude then you may have to rejet a gas generator depending on what it was tuned for.

You should be fine overnight with a battery as long as you are not running the furnace fan all night so quiet hours are not an issue. Most people fire them up in the morning for coffee and to charge up.

Also as others have said for the sake of your neighbors if not your electronics get an inverter generator. A bit more but will meet most campground standards for audio and carb compliance.

Be sure it's an INVERTER generator. Regular generators will exceed NP noise levels.

You could add a second matching battery, which should give you at least 2 nights, IF you don't use the furnace and you conserve battery power.

As far as I know, if the NP campground doesn't have electrical hookups, it won't have water hookups.
They'll have one spigot for around 8 campsites.
So you may have to shuttle water.

It would help if you posted what NP you're going to.

Pine Valley National park Utah. We will have to change the generator we got all though it says for Recreation Vehicles I do not see that it is the inverter everyone keeps talking about.

It will at least get us through this trip and then I can look again.

Generator choice takes educating yourself.

Decide if you want cheap and loud OR quieter and more expensive.

Then decide do I want one to run the a/c or not. One requires at least 3000w of power. A 2000w will run everything else but the a/c.

Then decide if you want the Gold standard, Honda/Yamaha or are willing for a lesser known brand.

a/c and microwave don't run on 12v battery power.
They have a TT.

I saw this in Costco the other day and was fairly surprised at the price. I have a Honda 2000i that we bought gently used for $750 and I thought the Yamaha's were close to the same price as the Honda. Anyway, to the OP, these are inverters and very quite (both the Honda and the Yamaha are considered the "gold standard" for quite)

It's not a Yamaha. It's an A-IPower with a Yamaha motor. I bought two of them and they work just fine. What I like is that it has a 3 prong twist lock outlet and the price includes an RV 30 amp adaptor that fits in the twist lock. The parallel cables are also included, which others charge about $50 for. And you get a took kit and an oil funnel.

Yep, NOT a Yamaha.
Has a Yamaha motor but that's all.
But reviews have been very good for the i-Power.

Thanks for pointing that out gents - I saw the Yamaha sticker but didn't notice it said "Powered By". Still a good price if it works well & is quiet (that seems to be where the imitators fail).
