Not how you dock your boat

Recent storm in eastern Nebraska Friday. Reeked havoc at some camp grounds. This boat was docked on shore before storm hit.Click image for larger version

Wow, it takes some serious wind to do that. Were any campers flipped over?

Arrow

We just left Pender NE(BlueOx towbar factory)... last Tuesday nite at 9pm we got the WIND!(which had already been going on all day long), a few heavy drops of rain, and then the HAIL! We thought we heard a few 'tings'.... then we started hearing louder 'Pops'... and then BANGS! and what sounded like 'shattering glass'!....

all this, while parked in our Palazzo, with our tow vehicle, AND a brand new motorhome from NEWMAR that I was in the process of delivering to a dealer!

fortunately, even after even more wind, rain, and even more hail overnight, BOTH motorhomes showed no signs of damage, or distress even, after what certainly made us think that the next morning we would be on the phone with the insurance claims department! Wow!.... these motorhomes are built better than even I understood.

Seriously though we do have a niece that lives in Belleview and she called us to tell us about the weather there. Fortunately they made it O.K.

Yes. I live about an hour away. As far as I know, no injuries directly from the storm but several campgrounds had late trees blow over, campers crushed, and at least at I29 campground, campers blown over. I'll see if I can grab some pictures off of Facebook to share here. Always something to be aware of when setting up. Very thankful no one was hurt.
I don't know these folks but am sharing a few pictures.

First....thanks to a post....it should be "wreaked" and not the other. Several campgrounds around the area were hit. Heavy tree loss in the Two Rivers State Rec area with several vehicles and trailers damaged. Some limb loss at Louisville State Rec. area and the loss of a couple Awnings...got to put them away when it gets windy...and several canopy's were destroyed. A camping area near I-29 in Iowa was almost completely devastated and not many campers survived, but no injuries...or loss of life. Campground had a storm shelter. Bellevue and Plattsmouth NE took the brunt of the storm, with a large amount of damage in those areas.

It has been confirmed by the National Weather Service this morning that Two separate Tornadoes moved thru those areas. EF-1 and EF-2. Will be spending Fathers day in Plattsmouth helping son and his neighbor clean up their mess. Some tree damage at sons house, but his neighbor has much worse.

I'm sure those that are making light of this mean well, but really, this was a devastating storm and many people lost a great deal. Thank God no one was hurt!
