mtnguy, I was thinking it was an old post of yours that I first read about this mod. Guess not.
I used the clear rope lights, but thinking about trying some blue ones.

I had posted a couple of times about using rope lights around waste tank drains during early spring and late fall camping to keep the pipes from freezing, but never thought to use the rope lights under the camper for accent lighting.

hhhhmmmm?...very interesting. I am a little confused. So the male plus end of the rope lights..it IS still attached to the rope light string? and you just zip ties it up to the frame also? Then when you park you just plug them into an extention cord?

he is using a cut end from a cord to protect the plug while they are in travel and pull the old cord end off and then plug the lights into an exension cord.
the lights do not get hot enough to worry about catching fire.

Yeah, that's pretty much it except I have a rear kitchen model so there is a gas line running the length of the tt. I used zip ties to attach the rope lights to the gas line.
As sherdep mentioned, I used the female end off an old cord to use during storage and travel so that the male end on the rope lights doesn't get dirty or corroded.
