Different strokes for different folks...

In all my years camping 45+... and all the reading I've done on different forums... I've not seen/heard of one instance of plumbing damage when using R/V antifreeze.

I have seen/heard MANY reports of damage by just draining/blowing out.

Even if there was only one instance of damage by draining/blowing out, it would be enough for me to use the pink stuff. I just don't buy into the "you'll never catch me getting that pink stuff near my plumbing system." When done properly, there is NO smell, NO taste and and NO after effects.

Do whatever makes YOU happy. That is exactly what I am doing.

We always do the pink antifreeze. It is easy to flush out when spring comes and it is drinkable. Not that I would but I wouldn't worry about your drinking water after you flush it all out.

Last year I forgot to pump it through my hand held shower head. Froze and popped right off the hose. Good excuse to get the Fury I wanted [emoji849]

I'll better that...I don't adjust my compressor at all. Connect the hose to trailer, then turn compressor on. I leave at least one valve open when I work my way around so the system can never become over pressurized. Disconnect input and output hoses from water pump, leave all faucets open, put pink stuff in traps/toilet and call it a day. Water heater and fresh tank already empty. I have done it this way for 3 different trailers and never a problem. We do get cold in northern Indiana.

So, if I understand, you don't do anything to specifically get the water out of the pump?

If purging the system with compressed air is adequate, I'd rather go that route than put the Pink into my FW system. As I said earlier, I'm just curious as to how to get the water out of the pump so that it doesn't freeze without using the Pink in it.

Pump is positive displacement. Simply turn it on with the air on. It'll purge out.

FR recommends when using air to blow out the water lines use no more than 30psi in the generic FR owners manual on pages 29 and 30.

My thoughts on the subject is blowing the water out with air is fine unless your temperatures are below 32 degrees for more than a week then use the pink stuff.

Some toilet flush valves need no more than 1/2 teaspoon of water to crack when frozen.

I think that the adapter I bought at Camping World is preset to 20 PSI, so it doesn't matter what the air compressor is set at.

Only pink stuff I use after blowing out the lines with an air compressor is in the drain traps and run some through the pump for the fresh water tank.
