Plastic toilet seat squeaks!!! Hate it!

Love my new Shamrock Hybrid but the only thing is the dang plastic toilet seat squeaks when ya sit on it. Almost like its going to break. Is there a ceramic seat that you can replace the plastic seat with? I think we have the 300 version.

Could not agree more with you. Same seat on the FR3 and I would highly encourage Forest River to stop using that seat. It is downright aggravating, noisy and embarrassing.

is your bowl plastic or ceramic? Even your toilet at home has a plastic seat, no such thing as a ceramic seat that I know of. You could upgrade to a ceramic toilet. My new 5th wheel has a ceramic one, so much quieter to sit on than our previous all plastic toilet.

I understand the makers using a smaller lighter weight toilet in places where space is at a premium but it would be such a huge improvement to supply an oversized and substantial seat that would fit on the tiny throne.

Dave the seat is not solid--that's the problem. It is hollowed out thin plastic with only a few plastic contact points to the bowl. That's why it flexes and squeaks. IF it were solid plastic--no problem and it it had standard connections to the bowl--no problem. But it does not.

Enconcapt you are right. I don't mind the lightweight plastic toilet it is substantial enough but attention has to be paid to the seat and certainly not go on the "cheap" with the seat. Solid plastic with hard rubber cushions between seat and toilet and larger seats would make a huge difference.

Smear some Danco silicone paste on the pads & spray silicone/lithium grease in the pivots.

Glad someone else brought up the flimsy toilet seat issue. Ours doesn't squeak but it always seems to be one inch off center (same thing in the V-Lite) and I'm wondering if it's a standard size that can be replaced with one of the old style painted wood ones. In the hall bath here at home we have a stained (not pained) wooden toilet seat. It's a perfect match for the hickory trim in the RV....hmmmm.... if it'll fit maybe it's time for a new toilet seat in the S&B hall (his) bathroom!

If I offer to get him one for "his" bathroom that has the automatic lid/seat raise&lower feature, think he'll go for it?

That'll freak out our cocker spaniel....in the 13 years we've had her I've not been able to stop that wench from drinkin' out of it! And can't train "him" to keep the lid down. Freaks ME out to walk into the bathroom and see a black headless dog standing at the toilet.
