So for those that park there RV at home. Do you keep your RV plugged in or do you just park it like I do at storage and just flip the disconnect switch.
When we bought our house, one of the requirements for our realtor was property that would allow us to park our RV next to the house (we poured a pad & had a 50amp outlet installed)
Why? A couple of reasons.
#1 I am always puttering about the RV and will do even more so when I retire in a year or two
#2 (OK actually #1) I HATE winterizing. Plugged in I can keep a nice oil finned heater set on the "Freeze" setting and keep our RV out of the "Danger zone" [having tank heaters helps as well
and #3 - like others - it makes for a really nice getaway! We have a pretty powerful WIFI that reaches from the house + a Apple TV + I ran cable to the unit as well <G>
So a working refer, TV, microwave, Keurig, internet and a bathroom what is NOT TO LOVE in this ultimate man cave?!?
So far...folks have not found me out and assume the answer to "Where's dad?" is Oh, he must be down at Lowe's or Home Depot

So if you keep it plugged and turn heat on during cold weather is it necessary to winterize it?
Well not really but I do not know if your basement has a duct in it to keep the pipes and sewer lines from freezing if you do then yes it's find but you need to keep it above freezing 32 degrees in the basement area. The only things that could freeze is if you have an outdoor shower, or your low point drains. You can insulate them but that is the shortcoming.. My low point froze and expanded and caused a leak while camping. To end that problem Just had shut off valves installed in the basement so now water will not be in the low point outside. Also I insulated the door area of the outdoor shower, other then that no......
Plugged in as well -even tho pulling back in the driveway during the summer is the last place I want the camper to be! HA HA But we are, too, constantly in and out of it when it is "in between" camping trips. It is also a nice getaway Apple TV and Roku box is always ready.

Once brought home from the storage lot, my camper is always plugged in while sitting in the driveway. I even ran a separate circuit so I could specifically have the camper as the only big drain on that circuit. Fridge is always on and, like others, seems we're always in and out doing something during the week.

.... and lovin' life........MOST of the time.
Finally brought her home. Covered it today but had a question.
RV is parked on a bit of a decline. Is there an issue storing the RV not level? She is nose low if that matters.
Thanks for the help.

Not really, I wouldn't run the refer. The absorption part will not work to good especially on gas. Has to be level. the reason you could use the propane part when driving is because it keeps the gas from settling. My drive way slopes back from the street. My front landing legs are only like a 1' out. I keep it plugged in all the time on a 30 amp circuit. Just make sure if you are going to precool your refer make it as level as possible. I just caught that you have a georgetown you might not have a RV but residential unit with R-12 freon instead. I would still try to level it off before using it.

Agreed.
Mine is plugged in and level as I have been in and out of it now and then and run the slides out for walk about room.
Is there a reason not to level the trailer out.

As others have said, the fridge being level (left to right as you face the fridge) is critical if you plan on operating it. The free return of the liquid ammonia is very important to operation and longevity of the tubing.
Examine the photo of the tubes to see that liquid will pool in the low end and eventually block the tubes at the low bend. This will cause a lack of liquid in the boiler and could damage boiler causing leaks.
Since the fridge is typically mounted in a side wall, front to back is the critical axis to be level. However, if YOUR fridge is in the back wall (maybe a rear kitchen model), the left side to right side levelness is critical.
Having said that, an out of level rig will also cause interior doors to bind and the slide motors to work excessively hard when opening and closing; in fact, loaded slides may not operate at all and blow fuses.

So if she is just stored. Not plugged in, not cooling down it sounds like I am ok. I only ask because when we pulled it in it is not level. The next time I use it and pull back in I will get some ramps or leveling blocks but I didn't this go around.
