Propane cover

My propane cover is all faded and old looking, any suggestions to make it look new?

I tried several products initially looked good then back to the same old faded look. I gave up, if you find something that works and lasts let the forum know

There's an automotive product, I think it's called Back to Black, and it's a rub-on product. Kind of like shoe polish and used on black automotive plastic, mirrors, bumpers, etc. It might last a year before being reapplied. I keep a tarp over my tank cover to prevent fading.

IMO....clean. Plastic parts prime and repaint. I had a Jeep with black plastic on it...it was a constant struggle. Ymmv

Krylon Fusion. I repainted my black propane cover last year. It was getting a slight grey hue to it from the sun. Now we're backto black.

Krylon fusion is the only spray paint that I found that bonds well to plastic. You can have it looking better than new for about $6

I just use the automotive wipe on products because you will never win that battle.

If white, remove from RV and spray with a bleach containing bathroom-shower cleaner like scrubbing bubbles. Let soak, rinse off with pressure washer. Use magic sponge on any remaining spots, and replace. Protect with a plastic/rubber/vinyl protector like Meguires #40.

For black, Stoner’s Trim Shine or Meguires Ultimate Black should restore the black sheen after washing.

I'd say just replace it. They get brittle after awhile from baking in the sun and there's not much you can do about it. I bought a Campco one a few years ago to cover my 30-pounders for about $20 bucks.

^^^^^^ if it’s getting brittle as well as ugly.

If the plastic is still flexible, then clean it good, and paint it white or whatever color matches your trailer best.
