The last time I checked the (Elect.starter) on most engines was located (12-18in) above the ground and(6-8feet) from the fuel door(overflow-splashback)area. The starter produces Lots of arc (Diesel or Gas)! These are all real close to the (Pump Danger Zone). Unlike the Refer.located in the RVunit! Youroo!!

Sorry f1100, I've seen and smelled the results of people not respecting the gasoline and propane we use every day. If anyone on this forum doesn't want to use common sense I have no problem with it but when you're putting other innocent people at risk, then we have a problem. That's all I'm saying and I hope I've made my point to those that needed something to think about.

Just for the record, how many rv's have you seen on fire at a gas station? Not that it really matters, but as I posted before, if it were a real problem, we would see it on the national news everyday or two and in my 73 yrs, I've never seen or even heard of a single incident.

Ok Crabby. Most of us have said in this and other threads that we run with our propane on. We have lots of common sense, and part of that is looking at the evidence. There doesn't seem to be any indicating this is a problem. If you would care to point out some real news reports of fires at filling stations caused by RV appliances, you might change out minds. Your posts aren't having that effect otherwise.

Gas and propane need to be respected but not feared. If that was the case why take the risk of putting your family out on the highway anyway? Odds are far more greater that your going to die in an accident driving to or from your destination. My refer is 7 feet away from my gas fill and have never once considered turning it off. I've spent my life on the farm and in the shop and understand what you can and can't do around the fuels. Just welded a bracket to an old tractor yesterday that was 3 inches away from a leak in the gas tank, Me and the tractor are both still here. I guess I just don't live my life thinking of every worse case scenario, wouldn't be much of a life.

We're still waiting on the objective evidence of what you are stating as gospel.
We've shown ours by the fact that there is nothing on the news about exploding rvs at gas stations.

I'll be happy to tell you why. I have no electric at my RV storage place. I cannot put my RV in my driveway and leaving it in the street in front overnight isn't an option for two reasons.
The only way I'm going to have a cold fridge when I get toy destination is to drive with it on.
