Unless you happen to have very short arms......

You just gotta do it

Pulled into a KOA in Halifax NS. Had started out from OK and never pulled anything before. Backed 26' Rockwood TT in on second try. Lots of practice between OK and NS. Next to me at the same time was a husband/wife team, him driving her directing, lots of yelling going on. Finally wife says if that little (I'm 5'3", 130lbs) gal can do it by herself so can you and walked off.

OMG that could have been US!
(Not really as we have not camped in NS yet, but I have seen that reaction from the DW in the past!)

Camp sites are one thing. How about storing the rig. We have a 35.5' 5er and have to store it in a 10x36' stall. Not much room in the lot to get it at the right angle either. Add to that, the guy across from my stall has a boat that extends out of its stall into the drive area.

A long tima ago, I bought an aftermarket bumper for my Jeep with a 2" receiver, so I frequently use the "pushing" method with maneuvering trailers in my backyard. In fact, with all the rain we've had in PA this year, my grass was so wet that my truck could not get the TT into the spot I had picked for it, the wheels just spun, even in 4WD. The Jeep has lockers front and rear, so it just slowly and dutifully pushed the TT back in 4WD low. I thought the tongue weight was going to tip the Jeep onto its front bumper and lift the back wheels off the ground, but it made it!

If you're ever in east central PA on a summer afternoon and need some quality entertainment, stop by Blue Marsh Lake, an Army Corps of Engineers flood control dam, outside of Reading, PA. We've had a boat since I was 13, and we went there every weekend launching and pulling our boat out. Great fun to watch folks who bought a boat the day before, pulled it there and launched it with their Toyota Corrola, had a fun day of boating, and then realized their little car was unable to pull their ski boat up the wet ramp at the end of the day. Priceless! Plus the occasional "entire rig sliding down into the water" episode. Good times. Good times.

After 20 years of setting up the 10 x 20 tent along with all the canopies, tables, grills, etc, we consider ourselves experts. I guess that will all change in 2 weeks when we take our "trial weekend to work out the kinks" with the new TT. Should be interesting, but since we will be out for 9 days over spring break for the kids I guess we need to get prepared. I hope all goes well with the backing in since we need to fit the TT, boat, truck and excursion all into the camping spot.

That sounds EXACTLY like our experience! 20+ years in a tent with 25lb outfitter cots, a porty potty, canopy for the kitchen area, 3 tables, an awning for the picnic table, etc. We bought the TT last year and it is SO much easier setting up camp without all the crap you have to haul around and load, unload, fold, etc. when tent camping. I was so sick of zippers (not good to have both zippers on a tent fail on the same trip!) on the tent, the canopy, the sleeping bags, etc. Now we back into our site, get it leveled, push the button for the slide, push the button for the awning, get out our chairs, and we're 90% done! You're going to absolutely LOVE it. Happy camping!!
