Question: Hooked up or not?

Hi All,

Fairly new to RVing and we will be taking our first long trip mid-April. When staying overnight on the road at an RV park or where-ever is it necessary to always unhook your truck from the TT.

I was thinking if the site is level and you do not have to lift the truck along with the TT. I would put the jacks down to stabilize and figure it would make for a quick break-down in the morning.

Is this a good or bad idea?

Nope, if the site is level. I have done it while traveling.. saves time in the morning...

If it's just over nite and your pretty close to level I would stay hooked up if the truck and trailer both fit in the site hooked up

One thing I always did though was to unhook the trailer umbilical cord from the truck. I was always afraid that I would accidentally leave a 12 volt appliance on and run down my truck battery. If you unhook you don't have to worry about that.

x2 on pulling the plug. I did leave the TV & 5er plugged in overnight one time and in the morning the TV wouldn't start. I had to jump the batteries. When on the road I leave the 5er hooked up, I usually fill up with fuel before going into a campground for the night. I don't do the Wally mart camping thing.

Good point, would not have thought about that until it was too late.
