Removing air pistons under bed

I need to get under the bed in my Cedar Creek 33IK. There is storage that can be accessed by lifting the end of the bed. There are 2 spring loaded or air pistons to assist and hold the bed mattress up. I need to temporarily remove those so I can lift the board completely up so I can get to the hydraulic slide mechanism. Is there an easy way to do this without removing the screws? Do they pop on/off? Just wondering because I can see this would be a bear trying to reattach them when done.

This video is for a car, but describes the process pretty well:

IF they're like the majority of the ones, the head snaps onto the ball. On most of them there's a retaining clip that you'll need to pry off.

It's the silver band looking thing in the photo. They just pry off. You can snap them back on when you go to put them back on.

Many simply pop on/off the ball stud.

Some brands have a clip that needs removed.
