Removing contact cement from clear coat

I've gotten some contact cement on the back of my FR3. Roofing cement on top of the clear coat. Any ideas for removing it without wrecking the surface?

I would apply heat and then scrape with a plastic scraper or razor scraper removing as much as possible. Follow up with a citrus based remover and see if that will soften enough so you can peel the rest away it away. Mineral spirits and acetone will work but you will certainly impact the finish so I would use those sparingly.

If it is truly contact cement there is no need to go through all the trouble ray98 suggests. The long time remedy had been to let it set up and use a rubber school erasure on it.
Learned this back in grade school 50 yrs ago.

The eraser woks, but it’s slow if you have a big. Spot. 3m adhesive remover worked but its$13 a can. Isopropyl alcohol works almost as well at about 99 cents a quart.

My rig is looking much better now! Thanks for all the clues[emoji3]
