Replace dinette with loveseat recliners w/pics

Went to the local RV Show last weekend and the DW and I decided we wanted recliners in place of our dinette. We have an early 2018 Rockwood Mini lite 2104s without front window. Loveseat is a lazy boy pinnacle recliner-rocker 512 we bought at local lazy boy store. Dinette is 85” w x 41” d and loveseat is 73” w x 38” d x 41” h. Total weight of dinette is about 124 lbs and loveseat is about 170. We will still retain most of storage behind loveseat.

Nice job I hope you got tv tables to match! The difference in the weight will be compensated by the loss of under seat storage. They look very comfortable.

That is absolutely awesome! My DW and I were just talking about how uncomfortable the dinette seats were and how we would like to do exactly what you did. I looked on La-Z-Boys website but I can't find that model.
Is that line under the window from the caulking that FR puts around the top of the dinette walls? I noticed it on ours while we were discussing this very mod.

Yes, the brown line under the window is the caulk line. I tried scrapping it along with some tar remover but it won’t come off. We’re thinking of getting a removable wallpaper border to cover it and go all the way around.

Did you try Goo Gone for removing the caulking line?

It works really well on removing sticky stuff in all kinds of situations.

Our local lazy boy store had it in stock at their warehouse so it was a quick turn-around. Those recliners come individually too without the console. We went back and forth before deciding on the loveseat.

kenandterry, I’m glad you mentioned that because I forgot to say in my previous post. I tried Goof Off, which may not be the same as Goo-Gone, and it stripped off the finish leaving a white spot that is noticeable. I only did a small spot to test. I’ll try Goo-Gone to see if that is better.

We bought a Micolite 25FKS. We did the same thing. We love the comfort, and bought TV trays to eat on. We are using the dinette table in the house, in the low position, to put plants on!

Line your new recliners up close to the door, take 10 steps back......then run fast and reeeeeeeeeeeealy push. It should go in.

Honestly....a lot of these recliner units come in two pieces, the backs slide and hook or lock to the base unit. Taking them inside in two pieces makes getting them inside easy.

The back of the recliner comes off and the base from floor to top of armrest is 23”. No problem getting them in. The console was smaller and not a problem at all.

Yeah, we’re going to pick up some TV trays or light-weight tables too. Good idea with utilizing dinette for plants!

Smart choice! DW and I tried restuffing the dinette bench cushions in our Nitro XLR with high density foam in search of actual comfort... didn’t work. This winter here in Yuma we found a vendor with an American made leather RV recliner - we ripped out the uncomfortable benches and enjoy having Living room comfort!

If you're talking about what appears to be a chair rail, that was an original heavy paper or wall paper wood grain border

I was able to find a matching woodgrain molding (1/4x3/4) at a local Flagstaff dealer that I needed for a vertical trim and that may cover your caulking spot if that is what you're looking for - sure a Rockwood dealer would have thew same thing.
