Ripped rv cover

Does anyone know a quick fix for a tear in my rv cover? We've had some terrible wind lately and it has torn a place on a corner. Is there a tape or something? thanks...

In my case and almost every case your RV insurance will pay for new fabric if it was caused by wind as in a storm . Have known of at least 10 times that I know of that that happened . Jim

i have an ADCO cover and got a small tear in mine.
i called ADCO's CS and they sent me a repair piece for free.

I'm not a specialists,but what if you duck taped both sides?least till you get a replacement.might even tape some cardboard on the corner of the RV so it doesn't rub the RV.
Just a quick fix. ;0)

the OP is talking about a RV cover, like an ADCO cover, not an awning cover.

Ayup...Duct tape works wonders. I use the white tape. Sorta blends in.

FarmerJim - ha ha - no apologies needed! You want to see major confusion on my part? Look at my crazy posts on the Jack antenna question I posted. Now there is me missing something!

But I am talking about my ADCO rv cover - as bikendan mentioned. We do not have a carport (yet, fingers crossed) so are using the cover the previous owner gave us for this winter. The wind ripped it where it comes down the roof to the front. On a corner. I read a post the other day about adding clamps/ropes to secure extra material - good idea. Wish I had seen it when we first covered it.

I have used Eternabond on my small tears, and after 4 years of use it still holds great. My 1st year of using my cover showed my where the wind can catch corners/sharp places. It's my left over from sealing the membrane-to-fiberglass seams. I have my Wingman sharp edges covered with a carpet remnant, my gutter extensions and pull out step bracing with the X-cut tennis balls held on by metal tape. I'm afraid duct tape will leave pull loose with warm/cold temperature swings. Excess cover is pulled tight from some Harbor Freight plastic tarp clamps and some small rope. Works great and haven't had any more issues. Hope this helps.

My addco cover tore from the wind, they sent me some patches, but they did not hold up, tore free in just a week. I'm in the process of trying to get them to replace the cover. Customer service reps are pretty good. I have to send them a copy of my receipt, and detailed pics of all the damage. I will post an update after they review my claim. These covers are expensive, and I hope they stand behind their product.

We bought some Scotch Tough Duct Tape - transparent with a webbing in it. For now, it's stuck on there pretty good. We'll see how it holds up.

I am curious about the comments on contacting Adco. But not being the original purchaser (no receipt) I don't know if they would do anything for us.

Just a follow up to my last post. Addco called me today and they are going to send me a new cover. The only bad news is it will take 4 weeks to get it. This is not Addco's fault, I should have worked on getting it earlier in the year. I would suggest their covers, and make sure you hold on to your receipt and turn in the warranty card. They will give you patches free of charge. Customer service rep was great.
