RV Bug Stop Screen Door Slider Mod

Hello, we love the Bug Stop, but don't like how you can't latch it to stay open when not needing it. I found these pins and drilled a hole to keep it open when not needed. Obviously this voids any warranty, but it's a convenience worth having. I included some pictures of the pin type, and where I drilled the hole. I used a 3/16 drill bit. I just drilled carefully after getting through the first piece, because there's a spring behind the sliding part. Hope this helps anyone using this cool gadget.

This gadget is pretty cool. With kids, it's a nice way to make sure that dang slider is kept closed!

And your mod is interesting so that you can latch it open when the screen door and main door are both in use (since you can't get to the main door's handle when the slider panel is pushed closed).

Retainer

Hello, sorry - thought you were talking about the bug stop. I bought it at O'Reily's auto parts store. Any auto parts store usually has these in stock.
