Shedding dog in back seat.

Decided to try something different this time to save me several hours of
cleanup of dog hair. This dog is a non-stop shedder and it gets imbedded in
the carpet.

I bought a roll of adhesive plastic carpet protector at Menards and covered
from the back of the front seats and up the lifted rear seats.

Took about 20 minutes to completely clean up all the hair. What was
remaining after a quick vacuum was picked up by rolling the used plastic
into a ball will the adhesive side out and dabbing it about to pick up the
rest.

I really didn't think it would stay put for the entire trip but I was surprised at how well it was stuck when removing it.

Wow, I've never seen adhesive plastic carpet protector used in that way. makes sense -- nice job! Just be sure to pull it up before too long as they usually have a max time you can leave them down.

our dogs would HATE that and rebel. The plastic would stick to thier feet and cause territorial disputes! I just gutted the back seat area and covered it with carpet. No doggie disputes and the hair vacumes right up if you get it after each trip.

That looks like it does the job nicely!
I found a cushioned work mat at Sears that was 48" x 96" and cut that for the floor. Then use a fitted single sheet on the folded up back seat. After the trip we pull the sheet out sweep the floor and just have to hit the backs of the front seats with the vacuum/lint roller. Works pretty good for us and the kids like it!

DreiHunde: Love your White German Shepard. We have one too, Schultz, he just turned two. Looks ferocious but is the biggest chicken in the world. And man, can he shed. I had no idea when we got him what we were in for. I am definitely going to try the carpet protector or the fitted sheet. Thanks for the ideas!

Tried the fitted sheets and the hair worked its way through. No hair cuts for my pup. Brittany, mostly white which shows real nice on the black carpet.

We have 3 dogs who travel with us everywhere. I bought a couch cover at big lots for 20.00. It's thicker than a sheet. Just tuck it in. Works great.

I found a big piece of Foam about 4 inches thick and 54 inches long by 20 inches wide. Fits great on my backseat for the dogs. puts them up so they can see us and outside better. I have shedless dogs. So some hair but not bad. I have a tarp made for dogs but it's not wide enough Said fits pickups. Maybe small pickups Before we go full time I have to find a better idea for that. It's easily removed but doesn't cover the width of the seat. Maybe this plastic carpet would work better. I'll have to look into that.

I have no problem except for a quick vacuum daily. I have Border Collies (3) Aussie (1), they get brushed several times a week which keeps the hair out of the house, RV and cars. Ferminator one of the best tools out there on the market, pulls all the dead undercoat out, plus a good raw food diet and Show Stopper daily helps. I'm a trainer and show dogs in competition, RV belongs to them

Our chocolate lab sheds some hair, but, not terribly. I put a spare bed sheet down in the back seat of my crew cab, similarly to what he OP has done with the plastic.

When we return home, I shake out the sheet and its good.

I put a crib mattress in the back seat of our Ford truck....folded the seats up first and put old patio chair cushions on the floor then the crib mattress. then I put an old quilt on the mattress followed by a single sized fitted bed sheet, it covers the back of the seats and goes down to the floor. We then bungee a piece of vinyl lattice to the grab bars, this keeps our girlz from coming into the front seat. They are so comfortable we have to look back every once in a while to make sure we brought them with us.....
