Sink covers How to keep them in place

Does anyone have a tip on how to keep your sink cover from bouncing loose or is it best to store they when on the road?
We have two covers side by side on two compartment stainless sink.

Store them while traveling is the easy way to be sure. They are difficult to secure.
Also take the glass tray out of the microwave. It will bounce around inside and cause the door to open, then you risk tearing the door off if it swings the wrong direction.

We wedge paper towels along the sides and it keeps them in place.

With these reports of having to do extra securing to the sink covers, and microwave glass tray....any chance this is because you have a rear kitchen?

The ride roughens significantly to anything positioned behind the axle. I know this because when I used to drive school buses....my students near the back got the best “air time” of any of the other students if I were to hit and bump or dip in the road.

We have had one bumper pull and one FW trailer. We haven't found the sink covers on the floor, but we now travel with them stored. So far the microwave door has stayed put, but the glass plate is ALWAYS off of the little roller thing and needs to be reset. We may start storing the glass plate in a drawer, good suggestion.

I put a throw pillow in the microwave when on the road to secure the tray: a dish towel on the front of my oven stone/tile so it doesn’t rub the oven door. I have a double sink, but only one cover that goes over both. If I put the hole in the cover on the right side of the sink, it stays in place. If I forget, it flies across the room. Best to just put it under a dinette seat while traveling.

We cut a pool noodle and put it in the microwave straight up to keep glass from moving around and store sink covers under the dinette cushions no issues

Great idea about the pool noodle. I have some left over from making noggin protectors on my slides.

We seldom use our microwave, so my wife uses it to store bread, cookies and other imilar foods. We don't need a special hold down. BTW...our kitchen is mid-trailer, over the axles. Have never had any of these problems.

We used two thin pieces of fleece type fabric that we laid along the top of the sink edge in a couple places before putting the sink cover in place. That kept it from rattling and it never moved out of place. Then after our first trip, we decided we didn't need the sink cover along and left it home. It was simply always in the way!

I sewed a thicker fleece "bag" for the microwave tray and that keeps it from rattling and moving around in the microwave when traveling.

We have a Rockwood 8310ss. Rear kitchen. We take the sink covers off before travelling and place under mattress in bedroom. No issues yet.

Probably some merit to your thought. Our sink and microwave are both over our axles and we’ve been on some bumpy roads. Never had issues either the sink covers or the glass tray even coming out of the slots.

I put a small piece of “no slide” cabinet liner under the front edge of our sink covers. They stay put now.

I put mine upright at a diagonal right in the sink. Quickest easiest fix.

Sink covers are only useful if you’re short on counter space. We’ve never used ours. It stays stored under the sofa.

I store ours to prevent any bouncing from breaking the sink loose. We have a stainless steel sink now but our 1st 5er had a white sink that cracked on the sink divider. Was it a defect or caused by cover, I'll never know.

We put all these in a drawer separated by dish towels.

Store ours for traveling where they stay most of the time. Have used them once while doing large food prep.

My sink is located mostly on the "bar" that forms my kitchen area. The cover is a one-piece that covers both sides of the sink. I put my dish drainer upside down on the cover than secure with a long bungee cord from the cupboard handle in front of the sink, up and over the dish drainer, then hook the other end to the cupboard handle on the side next to the door. All the counter items like hand and dish soap dispensers are stored in the sink on a rubber sink mat.

I like the idea of just putting a loaf of bread and maybe a few towels in the microwave. Any towel I hung from the oven handle just ended up on the floor so this will not only keep it under control but do something useful at the same time.

As for keeping things in cupboards and refer from getting knocked over, I save all the small Amazon Boxes I get. They can be folded flat for storage but when I need a space filler I merely re-fold them as boxes and stick one or more in the empty spaces. When I reach my destination, folded flat again and stored in a cupboard.
