Sumo Springs

[Slow but Steady]

I am thinking of installing either Air Shocks or Sumo Springs to my 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 four wheel drive pu. I have about 800 lbs of tongue weight according to Cat Scales. The back of my truck will squat about 3", it pulls find and no issues. Just want to level it a little. Looking for input from you fine folks. I have an Equalizer Hitch System too.

I have the same exact setup. I ended up installing the Air Lift 1000 helpers in the coil springs. When not towing, keep about 5psi per Air Lift. Use an air compressor to put around 27psi in before hooking up trailer. Rear end does not squat as bad and ride is better. Also does not seem to effect ride when not towing. I installed the units myself. It was not too hard, I used a T and ran a single fill point to the bed of the truck. Not bad for around $70, they also come with a lifetime warranty on all parts.

I have a 2015 RAM 1500 4x4. It has the factory 4 corner air suspension. I have pulled all kinds of trailers with all kinds of trucks and this setup beats them all hands down. I would go with air Shocks you can adjust to tweak the rear after getting as close to level as you can with the Equalizer Hitch. You will love it.

I put the AirLift bags with compressor on my 2014 Ram 1500. Best way to go if you don't have the factory autoleveling setup. You can level the truck no matter what kinda load you're adding.

We have a Sunseeker 2400S which came with a Hellwick sway bar in the rear. I have added Bilstein shocks and a front sway bar. We still feel a sway around tight corners and especially in high winds. Would adding Sumo Springs produce a better ride given what has already been added to the RV? I have read that the ride might get more "aggressive" after Sumo springs are added. Thanks for any comments.

I put an after market rear sway bar on my 2013 1500 Ram and then added 1000 air bags they helped a great deal. With 5 lbs in them when not towing the ride is as it was before the installation of the air bags. I inflate them to 50 lbs when towing and my truck does not sag at all.
