Surge protector when running generator

Does anyone have any thoughts on using a surge protector when running your generator for your RV?

I know on the progressive hardwired units you have to run a neutral bonded plug to be able to run on gennie power.
Your model I'm not sure.
Either the case I don't have any issues running a generator with my surge.

I had a problem this weekend running my microwave with my Honda 2000. Kept dropping below 104 volts and my PI kept kicking off. Just flipped the switch to put PI in bypass and finished cooking.
