The Importance of Checklists
Recently listened to this podcast and all I could think of is how many times has it been emphasized here, to newbies and veterans alike, the best way to avoid issues is to follow a checklist.
I'm sure the pilots here will agree.
Enjoy!

Don't forget to add don't forget your wife on that checklist. Last camping trip I remembered the dog but forgot the wife at the campsite.

I found an app "RV Checklist" that I downloaded and can customize to your needs.
Safe and happy travels.

I'm a big fan of checklists. Especially for dewinterizing, packing and winterizing. My winterizing checklist is three pages long and goes into great detail!

Was that "accidentally, on purpose"?

Have checklists for packing up at home, packing up at camp, getting it ready for spring, and getting it ready for winter.
They are always being tweaked, and just takes the stress out of :"what did I forget"
Mine are all paper copies however, since then I write things down I discover, or remove things that arent needed
One I added was put on the mirror extensions "after" taking the truck out of the garage. Dont think an explanation is needed

I use the 'Keep' app and build my own checklists, but this could be helpful too.

We have had checklists since day one of our first camper - which was a used pop up! We have tweaked it many times and added more pages as our camping life changes. We have a FOOD check list. We have a SHUTTING DOWN THE 5TH WHEEL checklist. We have a GOING TO FLORIDA WITH THE RV checklist. We have the COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS WITHOUT RV checklist. We have the GOING BACK TO FLORIDA TO THE RV checklist. The DH is an Engineer, he engineers my life for 48 years, sigh, and sometimes that's a good thing
But we have been camping together with the same friends for probably 30 years. They always forget stuff, I say to them "Don't you have a list?" - they say they do - but I really think not.
So there it is!!

As I have mentioned before on similar threads like this ~ we have 2 check lists, both mainly for use before 'rolling out' either from home or the camp ground. I have mine for everything outside, the DW has hers for securing everything inside.
After we complete our respective checks, we trade off and double check each other.
Once we are satisfied and think we're ready, I ALWAYS look under the tt both from the front & rear to see if anything has been misplaced under there from the cargo bay or just temporarily 'stored' there and I forgot to replace where it goes.

The dog will forgive you unconditionally, the wife not so much.

To which hospital do we address the "Best Wishes for a Complete Recovery" card?

So the piece not stated is how far you were away before you realized it [emoji3]

And did she have to call you or did you figure it out in time...I don't think I would ever hear the end of that mistake. Hopefully you were able to cover...like you went to get gas and were coming back?

Does anyone have a sample of the checklists they use. I am in the process of developing mine and would like to see what kinds of things others are putting on their lists.
BTW. I am an aviator and use checklists every time (before, during, and after) I strap in to my seat. Also I am new to the RV scene and this is why I'm asking the veteran RVers what they do.... TIA

The Importance of Checklists
I am probably the King of checklists. I have checklists for so many dang things, both camping and non-camping related, it's ridiculous. I usually build my own lists using either the Notes app on my iPhone, or in MS Excel on my MacBook, and I'm constantly updating/tweaking them.
