Might be based on an old steam railroad term. The bar that is moved to change the period of time the steam valves to the locomotives cylinders are open, and to change which cylinders (left or right) get steam first (allowing the locomotive to run in reverse) is often called a Johnson Bar. I think we've got a locomotive engineer (Choo Choo Man?) on here. Maybe he can relate.

Agree on the fire extinquisher....stored in an outside compartment or the tow vehicle in case you can't get to the extinquisher inside.
