Tire Question
Looking for comments here. If you store your rig for an extended period of time, or are parked in a campground for an extended period of time, is there any maintenance that might be beneficial during the tires down time? I am thinking checking pressures at least once a month while parked is decent idea. I have also heard that taking the rig for a short trip once a month is also a good idea to prevent (?) flat spots from forming on the tire. Would a prolong (parked) flat spot have a negitive effect on the side wall of the tire later on? This might also help the wheel bearings. It couldn't them hurt anyways. I know some folks who jack the tires up off the ground, and manually turn the tire(s) to a different position. While the tire is off the ground, they also check the pressures. I notice quite a few rigs on the side of the road fixing a flat, and just wondering about these procedures.
