Trailer keys

I bought a 2013 Roockwood Mini light 2109S used. It came with two keys that look to me to have come from the factory. One is larger than the other. The large one fits the door. Does anyone know what the smaller key fits?

Thanks

Mine fits all of my storage compartments and outdoor shower.

The other key would be for your outside storage doors and outside shower door if you have one.

My guesses are storage hatch lock or outside shower door lock.

I was reading a thread here a little while back where the poster said that they replaced all of their locks with locks that were keyed alike. 1 key would be joyous. No one in my family or in-laws (who camp often with us) know which key goes to what, so I'm forever the "door unlocker".

Thanks to all for the info. I will try it on the outside compartments. I have another key that fits everything outside maybe the small black one does also.

Thanks again I'm learning

most dealers will tell you that there are very few key numbers out there, in other words your key will likely unlock half the locks in the park, and vice versa. Changing to anything else will improve the security, not that the doors are all that strong anyway...

I got three keys with the lite.

#1 for the entry door (now replaced per recall).
#2 for outside storage doors with "slam latches".
#3 for outside storage with the infamous (keyed like everyone) 751 key.

Get some different colored paints or colored markers. Mark each key and it's associated locks with a dab of color, different for each key. Voila!! No more "door unlocker!"

I had three entry keys on my old Jayco it had the rear cargo doors the locks were the same as the entry doors. I located the lock manufacturer and purchased two new locks and had them keyed the same as the entry door so I only needed one key. Here is the link Home It was real easy to do. You can even purchase replacement keys or extra keys but I had to have mine cut by a local locksmith.

If I remember right, one key fit only the shower - we had the identical TT.

Along those lines, has anyone rekeyed their locks? My neighbor opened my locks with his keys yesterday. I told him that would probably happen since there are a limited number of keys for any given type of FR product.

Tomgky - from another 2109S owner--

--the larger black key is for the door, regular lock and deadbolt
--the silver colored key is for all of the storage doors
--the smaller black key is only for the shower, nothing else

There are systems out there that let you change all of your locks to match your door key. I have been looking at that but haven't jumped yet. I did have to replace the shower lock and key once. Got that from Camping World.

Hope that helps.

Broken axle's link to the manufacturer above is great. Confirmed my suspicion, there are around 50 key combinations out there in common use in the RV industry. Why they use 3 different lock #'s on the same coach is a mystery. Your house entry doors should be keyed the same, why not your RV? Maybe everyone wants to be like the janitor we all saw in elementary school with a huge ring of keys jangling on his belt...
Also now have a source to upgrade if needed. Thanks

Just guessing - 1 key for main door, 1 key for outside storage, 1 key for outside shower that fits nothing else, and 1 key for hitch locks.

If one was to take the time/money to change all thier locks, Is there anyway to get everything keyed the same including hitch coupler locks and hitch pin locks? Does Master lock or anyone else do special order stuff?

I have a Rockwood Mini Lite 2104, and the small black one unlocked only the shower, but the metal one unlocked all the outside compartments, INCLUDING the shower! Go figure.
