trailer leveling

Hi folks.
Picked up our trailer on Friday and headed straight to the park. We got the trailer leveled up and pulled the slide out. After our first night i noticed the trailer had started to lean to the slide side. Is this something that happens when the slide comes out due to the weight? Do you level the trailer and allow for this? We were camping in very wet grounds, the left side tires didn't seem to sink into ground.
Thx eh.

I have a slide that is 13 feet long and very heavy. I have never had that happen to me. Once it is leveled it stays level. Maybe it is because of the wet ground. I also use a 4X6 under the levelers that are about 18 inches long to help disburse the weight.

On my left to right leveling if I can't get it perfect with the leveling Legos, I'll set it so that the slide side is high and the weight/leverage of it will usually make it more level. But once I set it, it's set for the duration.

We experience a bit of what you see - the side with the slides settles a little with the slides extended. I don't know if its the suspension or what, but we generally will "level" the side with the majority of our slides just a hair high.

Same Here. I always level the slide side just a bit high to take the added weight of the slide. It isn't much, but I know I have to allow for it.

Usually it's pretty set and forget, the wet ground could have contributed or it could be the natural way your trailer acts when the slides are out. My old trailer both slides were on the same side and it would lean once they were out so I set it biased a tick to the right to compensate.

If it does it again, then I'd start biasing during setup.

I always level a little high on the slide side and extending the slide brings it right in. We use a ball style level gauge. I put the ball just left of the bottom.

I will do this before I extend the stabilizers to get them fairly evenly set.

Thanks everyone for your insight. I don't remember it doing that on the dealer lot, have to see on our next trip out. Probably was the trailer settling into place. Hmm, maybe even a bit of newbie going on,lol.
thx again.

both of my slides are on one side of trailer....when extended they do tilt the trailer....so here is my process..
1 level left to right with about 1/4 bubble high slide side using my 6ft level
2 chock all tires
3 put down the rear then the front stabilizer jacks
4 lastly run out the slides

usually this sets my trailer dead level left to right..if i level any other way i end up slide low by the second or so day....this way it seems to stay level, and only require a little snugging of the stabs and chocks after a few days..

We have three slides on our new 8329. 2 of them are on the port side and hold a sleeper sofa, refrigerator and stove on one of them. Then the Queen side bed on the other. An old timer we met in our second week of camping suggested a 4' 2x 8 for the tandem tires on that side. We carry it in the truck, back in, place a 5" level on the counter...if we see a tilt...we pull forward, place the board then back on it. Since then 75 nights of camping and perfectly level.

leveling

My wife is a fanatic about having a perfectly level trailer. I use the stick on bubble levels. I get the trailer as close as possible ans set the 4 corner stabilizers on 2 x 10 x 18 blocks. If the bubble is a little off, I move the level to make it look good. This method has worked for years.
