I parked under a White Pine tree in the spring, what a mess!!!!!! Before I left the CG, I tried several things but charcoal lighter fluid was what worked for me. A paper towel soaked in it, took sap off very quickly. I had it on the roof, windshield and slide awning. I kept two paper towel bundles handy, the second with soapy water to clean up with. I was concerned about staining but all was ok when I got home and washed the roof and awning. I did find some previous spots on the roof that had hardened and they came right off also. If the sap dries, when it is cold, it will scrape off with your fingernail. Good luck.
charcoal lighter fluid or mineral spirits in the paint isle... cleanup with IPA from the health isle in the supermarket...

A good wax base to begin with helps with removing pitch, bugs, tar, etc.
What works for us is: pitch...WD40, bugs...a couple of drier sheets in a spray bottle filled with H2O (don't laugh it works), tar...WD40 or turpentine. I will re-wax the nose or those areas I have cleaned.
Great things to look forward to after hibernation season ends...can't wait.
