Trip Journals

Rather new to RVing, only 2 years, but was wondering how people journal each trip. I'm not talking about blogs but personal logs on milages, site info, trailer maintainance or whatever info you might want to remember. What layout do you use.

I just use the good old notebook. I write a short summary of the stay, milage, best route to and from, and anything else pertinent to the trip. Receipts and other momentos are clipped to the page.

I have a log to track miles, maintenance, warranty issues. Wife has a separate book to document each trip; campground likes, dislikes, general notes, etc...

I use the following Journal I picked up off Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It works well for us. I keep up with the Campground info, sites we would return to, distance and time to get there, etc...
Also use it to log maintenance, modifications, etc... to the RV so I can look back and see how many miles or time between certain maintenance items.

I am generally a computer nut and do everything on a computer, iPhone or something tech related, but in this case the Ole Paper and Pencil approach is nice for us and it just seems more interesting sitting down and glancing back through it to see where you have been, who you met, what Mods and Maintenance you did when, etc...

Excel spreadsheet works and is easy to do dropdown boxes and searches. You can build your own anyway you like and edit it if needed.

I use a steno notebook and then transfer to spreadsheets; campgrounds, mh gas and toad gas (place, price/gal, miles).
For the journal, I usually write a short synopsis of the day. I have been doing this for the past 12 years and love to look back and remember and compare.
