Question Truck Routes?

New York state does not allow trailers on parkways. Neither of our GPS units, Garmin Nuvi, and Pioneer built in, have an option for truck routes, or parkway avoidance. This puts us back at the map studying stage. Are there any iPhone apps to help? Any other suggestions are welcome too. We would have spent an extra half hour getting the camper home from where we bought it without the seller's help in routing.

Not to mention unknown restrictions in other states.

I have an app on my iPhone called Trucker Path Pro. It was free. Haven't used it yet but I just tried planning a route back to my hometown on Long Island.

It did route it to the LIE route 495 so I do think it's made for trucks to use. You might want to check that app out. Good Luck

Alas, not gonna work for me. Tried to get a route to Suffern, NY as a test. First thing it did was put me on Ocean Parkway, then through the Battery Tunnel. Can't blame it for the tunnel, because trucks are allowed, but not propane tanks. Ocean Parkway, though, is obvious. Other features look like they might be helpful, so not deleting it yet.
