Needed to raise my TT 2", as spring width is 1.75" it was easier to get 1.75" square aluminum bar stock. Found a 16" long piece locally so no shipping. U bolts need to be longer, not a stock item for 3500# axle so found a company on line who makes custom size u bolts, $9.75 each plus shipping. I'll try to attach pic's of finished item. Requires cutting bar stock 3 times to get four 4" pieces. Prior to cutting, marl center of bar and center of each 4" piece. Drill 1/4 " pilot hole. My axle needed a 5/8 hole in top to fit the stud in spring ans a 3/8 X1" bolt threaded into bottom to plug into hole in spring perch. Came out pretty well. I did have to drill out the top plate to 1/2 " for the new u bolts.
I went to 15" tires that were taller, not by much, but did hit fabric under TT. It only raised it 1.75" which clears fabric. Had to readjust WDH to compensate. As usual, first adjustment was too high, second was right hieght but had to adjust head angel. Went back to Cat scales. Front fendr now up 1/4 " only 20# OFF front axle. Should work. With 6500# trailer, 1.75" doesn't seem to affect C/G.
