Under the awning

What is your choice of chems to keep the underside of the awnings clean? Is there something that prevents the black, ugly mold?

The first time I cleaned mine, I bought the camco stuff from Walmart. It worked well. When I sprayed it on, it smelled a lot like vinegar. Now I clean mine with vinegar and water and does a good job. I have not had an issue with mold.

Never used on my awning, but 1:4 worked well on my fence to kill mold.

I use a 2 cups of vinegar in an old windex bottle then fill the rest with water. It works out to about a third of the bottle vinegar, the rest water. For tough spots, I use straight vinegar.

Awesome from the dollar store. Works....er, awesome! I spray it on full strength, scrub with a brush, and rinse off. Also works great on black streaks. Just be sure to rinse well.

I use a Swifter with a paper towel as a wipe.
Spray Westley'sģ Bleche-Wite Whitewall Cleaner - Tire Cleaners - Ace Hardware on the towel and wipe the awning down. Roll it up for 15 minutes; unroll and spray down with water. Let dry completely before rolling it up.

Works great on the roof and tires too.
