Water softener and water filter

What order would you plumb a water softener and Camco water filter? I was thinking the filter first, then the softener. Any thoughts? Thanks.

U got it right. Never have any treatment in line before a filter.

Do you have a link to the WS that you are installing? Curious on how this would work in an RV application given the water demands of a softner in a regen cycle.

turbosek,
Thanks for the link. Interested to hear your experiences after you have used this system. I assume you will create a filter & WS hook-up externally to make access easier. Keep us posted.

I use an inline hose filter just after the water spigot/pressure regulator, then the water hose, then the WS, then a 2 foot section of water hose, and onto the MH hookup. It works great so far. Drops the PPM hardness to almost zero. My well water is about 100 PPM otherwise. Water can be as high as 400-800 PPM in some places around the country. Seems like a reasonable investment considering how much $ we have wrapped into our RV plumbing systems.
