Get the CAT scale app for your phone. The scale operator doesn't get involved... unless you want your printout, which at that point the weigh is over.

I use the app every time I weigh. You pull up on the scales and hit a button on your phone and BOOM your done. A PDF of the yellow weigh ticket is then emailed to you. If you want the hard-copy, go inside and get it off of the printer. Most of the time the scale operator doesn't even know there is a weigh ticket waiting for me.

Formula:

Fe = (Fl * dl) / de

Where,
Fe = Lever Effort Force (Total weight)
Fl = Load Force (Weight shown on the scale)
dl = Distance From Load Force to Fulcrum (Pin to bar on scale)
de = Distance From Effort Force to Fulcrum (Focal point to Pin - short side)
