What are these for?
These V shaped bars are welded to the frame / bumper supports. Do they serve any purpose? I am thinking about attaching PVC between them to store my sewer hose. It's too blg to fit in the bumper. Pic posted upside down, sorry.

I am a bit overweight but I don't think I'd drag the whole trailer down

I see why you are asking.
They are not bent, broken or mangled.
If they were... you'd know!

They are skid bars to protect the frame when going up some inclines. They definitely need to be reinforced tho'. On my first trailer, I made them out of 1/2" thk steel, but the frame was REAL steel I beams. 1972 Nomad 20'.

So if I attached PVC and stored my sewer hose it wouldn't hurt anything. Until I bottom out the trailer.

Correct. But chances are... if it has those... it will bottom out... somewhere, sometime.
They typically don't put them on units unless there's a clearance issue.

What kind of hose do you have?
Many folks think the Rhino Flex doesn't fit in a 4" bumper but it does if you turn the fittings correctly.
Also... looks like you have room for something on your extended bumper behind the bike rack?

I can't remember the hose brand name but it definitely won't fit in the bumper. I thought about attaching right behind the bumper then I noticed those hanging there looking so easy to work with . . . If I do bottom out somewhere it will probably crush the PVC regardless of where I hang it. Mr. Positive strikes again.

Attach one of *THESE* to the frame near your axle.
They make telescopic ones that will adjust for different lengths too.
It will never crush there.

We will bottom out going in or out of the driveway if we are in a certain spot. We have replaced them twice. The first time we damaged them we went out of a gas station driveway. The next time was in the home driveway. They can help from ripping off your sewer lines under the trailer when you back up.

I have seen a set of wheels on clamps that attach to these brackets so, instead of dragging, they roll when they hit the ground. Also, if you put the pvc pipe on those brackets and there is a raised lump in the pavement, you could hit that with the pvc and break it in half. Put the pvc on top of the bumper and it should be fine.

The frame will be stronger than that bar. It's to small to protect anything. After blowing the picture up i don't think it belongs there.

It doesn't look terribly strong, but, it is attached to the frame beam. I had something like this on my 70's Nomad and it did work and protect the trailer when we went up steep driveways. It seemed shorter, though, but, while it dented a bit, it didn't collapse. Mainly protected the holding tanks and the end of the trailer.

I bought one of "those" based on assurances from the dealer that my Rhino hose would fit inside......WRONG. I did get my spare hose in the tube, but had to hacksaw about half the ears off the fittings. I was able to fit the Rhino in the bumper by rotating the fittings.

It will if I remove the connectors. But who wants to do that each time?
