Wildwood Hose connection near drains

I have not used my travel trailer yet, I just purchased it last month and am trying to learn as much as possible before our first trip this spring. I have a 2005 Forest River Wildwood. Near the drains for the black water underneath, there is a place to hook up a water hose. Its not the fresh water connection, but i do not know the purpose of it. I took my camper to a local RV dealer and they said it was a hookup for cleaning out the toilet. Does thta sound correct?Does anyone know what this hose connection is for?

It is for cleaning out the black water storage tank. After you have drained the black water tank of its awful contents, you should connect a different hose than the one you use for fresh water and let the water flow. BE SURE TO HAVE THE BLACK WATER VALVE OPEN when you do this. Otherwise you will be pumping water into the black tank with no (good) way out.
Essentially, it has a spray head inside the tank and this allows the water to rinse the inside of the tank. They usually work fairly well.

it would help knowing the model you have and if you supplied pics of what you're talking about.

from what you describe, i agree with Ovair.
it sounds like a back flush device for the black water holding tank.
not sure if it was a factory option or if the previous owner had it installed.

if you look closely, you might find a brand name on it.

it's not for cleaning the toilet!
that would be one heck of a back flush device!
