Couple of guys from my work who retired 3 and 5 years ago setup camp in the Baja area because of this.

I understand both are doing well and enjoy the climate but I have no idea where they are, never bothered to asked them because I did not think they would stay for long.

Now it is more than twenty cents to the dollar so it will now hurt for anyone going for the whole winter, for the people going for a week to get away from the -30C weather, not yet, but it would make people start thinking. For anyone going down south with the trailer, a free night at Walmart etc will take the sting out of the exchange.

Still affordable camping in the National Forest and State Park campgrounds in spite of the poor exchange rate and the fuel cost is still 20% (or more) lower that in Ontario exchange rate included. We're already booked for January/February.

DW and I had already made the decision to forgo the U.S. this winter in favour of a tour of the Canadian Maritimes next spring or fall (only one big trip each year, haven't decided on going to NFLD yet). However, if we hadn't, the significant increase in cost due to the exchange would be giving me pause for concern. One issue is that most places in Florida you would have to have already made your reservations and the increase in exchange would have to be weighed against cancellation fees.
