Will I ever remember

To turn the water heater off? I tell myself to tell Google to set an alarm when I turn it on but then I forget to do that too. I wish it had a light that stayed on. It's hell getting old.

Put a label on the door so when you lock it up to leave its right there in front of you to remind you.

Get into a routine of turning it on immediately after you connect your hose when you arrive and immediately after you disconnect the hose getting ready to leave. Don't put it off....or you'll forget

I only want it on for an hour. That's plenty for shower and dishes. Thanks though, I do have it on my decamping checklist.

My First stop in the process to break down is turn off elect wh switch, then start everything else. That is also the last thing I do when setting up, turn on elect wh switch.

Red tag

That red tag is a great idea. Could be placed on several things, like the antenna control, the steps, windows, water heater switch, etc. Whatever gets chronically forgotten.

Water heater off/on

The red label someone put is the perfect way. I have one that hangs from my TV antenna crank and always reminds to lower during set down. Placing the heater notice on your steering wheel will guarantee you see if before leaving.

Yep, I know the feeling of getting older and remembering everything.
I have made a check list for "before the rig moves" and printed it out and placed near the door and go through the 'check list' OR we too forget something important!

When we bought our first TT, I bought a small marker board, only a few bucks at WalMart and wrote a list of items we needed to remember to do when getting ready to leave camp(turn off water heater, AC or furnace, crank antenna down, ect) and placed in on the wall. Helped a lot until we got in a routine and got used to doing everything.

I rarely have time to forget because I always have someone standing next to me to remind me. They know me too well.

Ahhhh, my not-so-favorite response these days; "it's Hell getting older". It's a whole new world when we do!

I made a checklist of the things that I need to remember.

Now if I could just remember to read the checklist....

Then use gas. On our TT the switch for the gas hot water heater is on the panel and lights up when on.

I have gas only. The light comes on then goes out. I see no reason to leave it on much and especially all night.

Remove Before Flight Flags

Don't have an RV yet, but after hearing friends talk about forgetting things (like the TV antenna), I bought a pack of five "Remove Before Flight" Flags on eBay for $2.81 and gave one to each of my RVing friends! As a former Navy pilot, it seemed appropriate!

We rarely boondock so I use hot water on electric 99 percent of the time. I do dishes once a day - after dinner. So I flip the breaker on when I lift our meal and then flip it off after I finish drying the dishes. That way I remember dinner, dishes AND the hot water.

I-phone reminders. Use them for everything. Reminds me to do the important things. Of course, I use the voice activated part, and it cant interpret words worth a crap.

60 minuet wind up light timer. Easy to wire for 12v or 110 v ( one wire to one side of the water heater switch and one to the other. ) Timer works when the water heater switch it off. OEM switch for normal oprateion.
