So true. I realize they say to not grease the new ones but I am still going to apply some dry graphite to the gears just to add lubricant. I believe gears do better with lubricant and extend the life. Just having bare metal against bare metal is not good.

The teeth of the gears fit into each other. A small bit of lubrication will not cause them to slip. no worries there.
