I would agree on AC. Gas line would be on passenger side.

I'd get a cover for it as. Mentioned above to keep insects (bees wasps) and other critters out.

I was thinking of installing a used roof Coleman A/C . It seems simple...just remove the vent and install the A/C and run the power cord out the empty port on the side. Now for the question. How can I find out if the roof on the 2001 freedom 2280 is able to support the AC weight?

Hi, looking at the pic of the 3rd "hole" it looks like there was a flip up cover like the one for the electric cord. With the way it looks like petals on a flower, it makes me think something was supposed be able to pass thru there. Can you access it from the inside?

I really don't think it's for the AC. I have AC installed on mine and the hole is still empty

we just had our demo last week for our 2012 2280, the ports on the side from left to right (if I remember correctly)
water tank in (pour it in from a container etc)
water take in (hose hook up)
grey water out
electrical
A/C wire passthrough.

there is also place to attach a cable (for television).

so I'd say yours is for the A/C as well. We don't have A/C so don't even know how that whole thing works. Do you pass the A/C cord into that port and then it plugs in somewhere inside the pup?
