2002 Flagstaff model 208 pop up

I recently purchased a used pop up my second one. Our old one was a smaller starcraft and had stiffiners or safety bars that you would put over the uprights after it was cranked up. The new Flagstaff didnt come with any although it has much larger tubing on the uprights. Just wondering if it should have these or not?

On two previous P/U's I have had, I never used the safety supports because I felt I didn't need them. I would have to say to anyone that you should do what you think is best for you.

our 2012 Model 208 has them as safety bars. You clip them over the uprights on opposing corners.

They aren't really stiffeners, they are safety bars. They are there in case a cable breaks while in the upright, to keep the camper roof from crashing in on you. As mentioned, do as you wish.

It came with 2 safety posts. My understanding of the Goshen lift system suggests a single cable failure could cause the entire roof to drop. I've never heard of this happening while its up but you never know. I would call forest river. I can't imagine they cost much.
