2012 1904 popup questions

We just picked up our new 1904 and spent our first night in it even though the temperature outside dropped to 20*... Anyway, we have a couple of questions and need some experienced advice!
1. The carbon monoxide/LP leak detector light stays on constantly. How long will it take to drain the battery? Any way to turn it off when we aren't using it?
2. Can the electric winch be disabled when the unit is not being used? The thought of someone messing with the switch & damaging something really disturbs us.
Thanks for any tips you can send us. I'm hoping the new owner jitters won't last long!

1. no, the CO detector is hard-wired. that and other parasitic power drains can empty a Group 24 battery in just a few days.
2. don't know but if you installed a battery disconnect switch, you'd fix both issues.

Thanks for the great idea! Unfortunately, our introduction to our new popup was done by the salesman. We are now realizing how many of the details he missed in his instructions. I even wrote out notes as we went along...

that's the second recent post about the salesman doing the PDI/walkthrough, instead of a RV tech.

NEVER let a salesperson do your walkthrough. most RV salespersons know nothing about RV'ing or camping.
demand that the RV tech do yours.

Short of a maser battery cutoff switch, you can just pull the main inline fuse in the weatherproof case that's within a few feet of the battery terminal. Does the same thing.

That's exactly what we did yesterday. Quick & simple.
