2014 pathfinder

Im new to the pup world, i purchased a 2010 rockwood 1640, then realized my tow vehicle doesnt have enough power.
I'm looking into a 2014 pathfinder to tow.
Anyone have any towing experience with a 2014 pathfinder out there?
Will I need to purchase a brake controller?

The pup weighs about 1350lbs dry. I figure I'll be about 1800lbs filled.
Pathfinder should be plenty powerful enough, it's rated for 5000lbs.

I also have a 2014 pathfinder. I pull my 2015 hw276 with it. I do have a brake control because my pop up weighs about 3800 lbs full. Seeing you're just under 2000 lbs. I wouldn't think it would need it. Does your 1640 have brakes? If it does then it couldn't hurt to get a brake control.

The 1640 does have electrical brakes.
That's 1 of the reasons I like the pathfinder, it has a 7 pin.

How do you like your pathfinder?

It's pretty nice...I got the platinum 4x4 so it's has everything on it. Right now it's just the wife and I and our dog so there is plenty of room. It pulls our hw276 really good too. I'm not going to keep it more than 5 years though, I have my sights set on upgrading to a travel trailer or 5th wheel so I'll need a big rig preferably with a diesel.

I have a 2006 pathfinder and tow a 2716G with no problem, yes with brake control and stabilizer bar.

Should work fine

I pull my Rockwood M190XR, similar to the 1640 but offroad tires and full 4' ATV deck, with a 2014 Xterra. Drivetrain is identical to the Pathfinder. The V6 is pretty torquey and pulls well in the Colorado mountains.

I did add an Andersen WDH to help with the M190's higher tongue weight. Not sure it's 100% necessary, but provided integrated sway control for the Xterra's shorter wheelbase. Makes for a solid feel and provides a nice safety margin on the downhills.
