5 gal. pail vs. gray water tank

On my first (and only) trip in my popup, I just used a 5-gal. pail to catch the gray water and emptied a couple of times a day. This was so simple. Emptying of the tanks is one of my least favorite memories of my previous years of owning travel trailers. I think this might look bad, but when you camp in a tent, this is how you get rid of your dishwater. Nobody ever raised an eye when I dis this then, but something tells me when I go on my next trip in a Calif. state campground, I might get some nasty glares or I might actually be breaking a rule by doing this. Does anyone have any experience with this?

no problem using a pail, just don't dump it on the ground.
we used to dump it in an outside sink at the bathhouse or down a bathhouse toilet.

in Calif., if you're caught dumping it on the ground, you will be cited.
