50 Amp Electric to 20 Amp?

I am looking at a campground that only has 50 amp electricity but my popup is 20 amp. Can I use the 50 amp? Is there an adapter I need?

A 50 to 20 adapter is sometimes hard to find but they do make them. See photo below.
You can also go 50 to 30 then to 20 with adapters that are available about everywhere.

Most campgrounds have all three at 50amp, 30 amp and 20 amp at the power pedestal. Most campgrounds only publicize the highest settings. Yes there are adapters (commonly called dog bones) that will adapt you from 50 to 30 and then from 30 to 20. It may be a good idea to carry them both but in most cases all campgrounds will have 20 amp service if they provide electric to the site.

X2

I haven't run across a power pedestal that didn't at least have a 15/20 A. outlet. Even with the TT at 30A connected. It's not unusual to hook up an extra extension cord

Just make sure that whatever you plug in has its own breaker or fuse (15/20A). If you had an overcurrent situation (not a short circuit) using a regular extension cord (#16 or #14), the breaker wouldn't trip until it got past 50A. The wire is only rated for 15 or 20. It now becomes a fusible link!!

Surprisingly, they're out there. Elkhart Campground was one that literally had just a 50amp connection and that was it. Frustratingly, I couldn't even find a breaker.
