Another propane fridge problem

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. Just purchased a used 2012 Rockford Freedom 2280. Playing with it today and getting ready for my first trip Thursday. I've got everything working except the goll darn fridge. I cannot get it to light on propane. Since I won't have hookups this time I need to figure this out. First I make sue the 120 and 12v switches are off. The line is purged because the stove, water heater and outside BBQ all light. I hold the pilot button down while I try both the push button ignition and/or a long stem lighter in the access hole. I continue to hold the button down for several minutes before turning the knob to high. I wait to see if the vent gets warm ( which is the clue I always use when lighting on of these) but nothing. I have been trying this procedure on and off for 5 hours. Anyone out there have any ideas?
