Gonna have the wife do ours, great idea. The supplied strap is too short. With the camper on the truck, it's a ladder job no matter what.

I carry metal wire tent stakes for the carport feet but I'm always on dirt anyway.

What I do with my 276 hw is set the awning up while it is down with all the rods loose so they slide and then raise it up then Secure the rods. To put up loosen rods and lower down and rods will slide together then you can stand on ground to roll up or out

Yes that the same thing I do but when the pup is setup and a heavy storm comes I just pray but the wind took the awning this time and I had it tied down.
