Bandy Creek Campground at Big South Fork NRRA

Does anyone have a review of above campground? We are heading there in early April.

I went to Bandy Creek 2 years ago. Nice campground but sites are not especially spacious. I had a 26 ft Jayco hybrid at the time and noted most of the sites were not especially deep. There was some tree cover in parts of the CG. Bath houses were clean and kept up. I remember a lot of horse trailers there. Think equestrian is popular in the area. Nice visitor center and campground was pretty remote. The area had lots of hiking, bluffs, and other beautiful vistas nearby. We took a nearby train ride into a mining historical area which was very fun and kid friendly. I remember the closest grocery store and small town was a windy drive and approx 20 miles away, but good roads. Road conditions and pavement all good access to the campground. Campground had playground and paved roads, but seemed a little close together on some sites with little understory. Grounds were well kept however. My site was a 30 amp which kept blowing the breaker. It was replaced soon after I let the staff know, so they stay on top of things. Enjoy your trip. Spring wildflowers will be in bloom in that area so enjoy the beauty. That area is one of the best wildflower viewing areas east of the Mississippi. I like the little campground of Frozen Head State Park in TN. Very small with no hookups however.

Thanks for the great description. We'll post our own review after the trip; just hoping the weather cooperates.
