best way to seal leaky roof fan exhaust
so this weekend I discovered (with the help of a lot of rain) that my fan vent on the roof has a leak. Never should happen on a 2015 model. But I need to fix it correctly. I know there are a lot of products on the market; from spray sealant to different types of caulk & silicones. I just want to scrape all the original silicone & re apply something new. Can anyone suggest what may be best? It is a very slow small leak, but you know water.....it doesn't take much to cause considerable damage to the inside of your PUP> Thank you.

eternabond tape, right over your existing caulk, which should be cleaned before application... comes in 1,2 and 3 inch widths

I was entertaining the tape. I just hope it's a clean look. My top is beige. So I may not like the color contrast. Thanks for the suggestions guys

They make beige EternaBond tape. I have both 2” and 4”.

Thanks RSDATA........ Some good references. There is a thin bead of silicone that I will scrape off before laying down externabond tape or glue. Thanks for all the good advice.

also clean the area, I used acetone or mineral spirits with a rag. definitely get it clean of dirt.
take your time. and if using eternabond, remember to make sure it is in right spot BEFORE you start to put it down. it is Very sticky, and once started, you cannot take it off or move it elsewhere.
make sure you rub it or roll it to activate glue
great videos on internet
