Break away quiery

I have a 2004 Rockwood Premier 2156g. My non forest river dealer told me it has a emergency break away system. It had nothing in the manual and the forest river website had nothing mentioned. Does anyone know for sure, or direct me towards someone who can? Thanks in advance.

There should be a small cable, coming from the tongue area, that you should hook in one of your safety chain hooks. This cable, if pulled on hard enough, will pull a pin, and lock the the brakes, provided the trailer battery is good, in case of a "break away" situation, in which the trailer breaks away from the tow vehicle. In case of a break away. It is a small aircraft stye cable, and make sure you hook it up.

The break away cable should not be hooked to the safety chain hook but to the frame of the TV. If the TT did brake away and the chain failed the brake away cable would not activate the TT brakes.

I added a small spring loaded carabiner and keep it hooked to one of the loops the safety chains hook to. I put the cable for the break away in that.
