Smile Bunk lights, add-a-room; worth getting?

We just picked up our brand new trailer yesterday and are in love! Two features we thought we wanted, but weren't included were the add-a-room and bunk lights.

Do dealers have these in stock? Is there a cheap place online to get them? Are they even worth the search?

bunk light/fan combos are well worth it. check Ebay for the best prices. does your popup have the outlets to plug them into?

not a fan of add-a-room but we don't have a lot of insect issues out on the West Coast.

Congratulations on picking up your new trailer!

Not speaking from experience but from what I have read the add-a-room takes a bit of effort to put up. If used regularly it would be worth the investment otherwise a regular easy-up canopy might be easier and quicker to put up.

When you see someone with one why not ask how it's working out? Bet you get the good & bad options on it.

The outlets for the fan/lights are 1/4" jacks. They look like headphone jacks from a home stereo, not an I-pod. And yes I would say they are worth it as far as air circulation goes.

I would recommend the bunk lights but the add a room is a PITA to put up and take down. When we had out PU we invested in a good quality screen room to take with us. it went up easier and had more room then the add a room.

The shipping from ebay to Canada is something crazy like $40. I do think I'll buy one and see how it goes but need to find someone with reasonable shipping charges.

Those are definitely the right jacks for the bunk lights. I was looking at those, wondering what they were for.

Thank you so much for your help! My husband is the one who really wanted the screen room, I had heard that they were a pain.

Thank you for your help. I think I can get them cheaper on ebay than if I were to buy from the dealer, even with crazy shipping.

Is there a certain brand that I should be looking for or are they all the same brand?

if you're buying from the US or outside of Canada, don't forget to factor in duty and taxes when the item comes across the border. If it's shipped by the postal service they are not too bad but if shipped by UPS, their brokerage fees are kind of hefty. just talking from experience.

Good point! I'll make sure they use USPS. UPS hit me hard last summer when I bought some things for my wedding. I swore them off because of their $35 brokerage fees.

I would suggest that these items are nice to have .. but the fans dont do much when pushing air around in the bed-ends of your popup. We had two .. in our last popup .. and ended up putting them away after purchasing a "create a breeze" by fantastic fan .. which is a much better product ..pushes way more air .. very quiet and for the price differentation .. a much better buy.
As for the add a room ...ours stayed stored all its life.

hope this helps .. d-mo

True enough D-mo We used them mostly as additional lighting when someone wants to read in bed.

I'm not too worried about the fan, but am really interested in the light. I think mine is at the post office right now. I just ordered one for now.
