Cassette toilet

For those that have a cassette toilet, I have a question. Can I fill the reservoir tank before I leave for the trip or should I wait till I get to the destination?

Is there anyway that bumping around on the Road or going uphill might cause it to spill. I am not talking about filling up the toilet but rather the cassette toilets reservoir.

Trout, The book says to fill it either half or 3/4 full, can't remember which, for just that reason. That said, I've traveled with it full, and I've traveled with it half full, over some fairly tough terrain, and I've never spilled a drop from the reservoir tank.

toilet pump

I have a thetford C403L toilet with electric flush. problem is the impeller in the pump sticks after a few days of none use and blows the fuse. is there a fix for this? So far I have had to take the pump out and use a pick to rotate the impeller a little to free it up and then replace the 3 amp. fuse.

We have just bought a rockwood with cassette toilet. Question to Troutstalker - How does one get the chemical to release inside? we've pressed the lever inside and chemical is not coming thru. What are we doing wrong? Hope you can help us..

Hi,

I don't know wich model you have, but on mine, I have to push the blue spot near the inside lever to get the liquid. Unlike other toilets connected to the water, it's not the flush lever that activate the liquid.
Does-it answer your question?

Cassette Toilet

Thanks for the replies received on operation of cassette toilet. Jiheme yes we know the blue button is supposed to release chemical/water but ours is not doing so. Now upon reading various articles maybe we did not fill with enough water. As it was working well the previous time. In the manual it only states to fill to reservoir line but on forum others state that you keep pouring (which we did not do). Also how did you winterize the cassette toilet to make sure no water is in reservoir?

Hi,

From what I read on the user manual of the toilet, to empty the reservoir, you have to use the hose that also is used as water level indicator; it can be used to drain the liquid.

Read the manual from this link:
C402C and C403L Cassette PDF

Personally, for winter, I'll add some plumbing anti freese in the reservoir and activate the pump to see the liquid go thru. Like that I'll be sure there is no water left to break it.

On one trip, something was bouncing around and would push the pump button. Enough to partly fill the bowl and cause the blue water to splash around and out of the bowl while driving. The circuit must energize in my popup off the tow plug.
Seperate point, regretfully we do not get enough

Use out the our camper so rather than filling the tank with water, we use pink antifreeze with the blue chemical so we do not have to drain it. It makes a pretty shade of purple
