Cassette toilet lid strut

In 2013, Forrest River made a change for the better on the Mac 228d, they replaced the hinged metal folding bar that holds up the toilet counter top with a strut. When the folding hinged bar starts to loosen up from use, they tend to fall on you,

Does anyone know a part number, length, pounds of lift, mounting instructions, anything that might help me find and install one. My dealer was going to get me one last year and after reminding them twice more, and never hearing from them again, I have no choice but to move on and seek information elsewhere.

If I can get a length and pounds of lift, I can do the rest myself, any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks Jim

Try Sam Buckles at forest River. He helps out with tent camper questions. Our 2010 flagstaff 625d had that same hinge and it was a disaster.

He can get you the part number you need and help you order it.

ittle dew,
I contacted Sam too after the lid fell on my 8 year old son when he bumped the folding bar. The cylinder is much nicer and safer.
